IPG CarMaker Closing Without Error or Warning

Hello,

I am currently running CarMaker with a Formula CarMaker license on a personal PC with Windows 11.

For some reason, I have been experiencing the same issue of CarMaker closing without any warnings or errors. This issue happened in the following situations:

  • When I select a Project Directory
  • When I open a new Test Run
  • When I try to open the car in the parameter
  • and many more situations where I open a new window or select a car or track

So whenever I need to open a new window or select a new file, it closes itself without any errors. I have deleted and redownloaded the software multiple times.

I somewhat assume it could be my PC’s issue, but I am quite lost as to what the cause can be. Is there any similar issues and solutions to this case?

PC spec is:
CPU - 13th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i9-13900H (2.60 GHz)

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU

RAM - 32.0 GB

The CM version is 14.1.1 provided for the formula student teams.

which driver are you using for the NVIDIA GPU?

Good afternoon,

Currently, I am using a GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 591.86.

I have been changing a few setups around and found a somewhat reliable solution to make it not crash. I force my laptop to use dGPU at all times in all software instead of mixing up internal graphics and external ones depending on the usage, which allowed the CM to run without problem for now.

I will keep an eye on it and see if this change works in the long term.

yes could be well be the problem, infact I was going to suggest to use the NVIDIA GPU as default in the NVIDIA control panel.
