I am doing comparison of consumption of E.V with and without trailer. Without trailer Power consumption is 20KW at the speed of 100kmph, however consumption goes up to 60kw at same speed with trailer. I have checked some documentation on internet, which says that consumption increases by 20-50% if trailer is used. Is there any problem with trailer given in IPG CarMaker product examples. I have tried all the product examples, power/energy consumption is in between 2 to 3 times of normal power/energy consumption.

Hi, what vehicle are you using and which trailer?
Right now I am using IPG Company Car EV and Horse trailer. However energy Consumption is more than twice (250%-300% of Consumption of Car only). if it is twice, it is okay.

ok check please the mass of the trailer, of course the consumption is also influenced by the cycle dynamics, if there are many accelerations etc the weight and inertia of the trailer plays a bigger role than the other resistances.
